Founded by Howard and Brian Dahl, Amity Technology traces its heritage back through four generations to involvement with companies such as Melroe Manufacturing Company, Steiger Tractor and Concord, Inc, where the legendary Concord® air drill was developed.
In 2011, Amity entered into a joint venture with AGCO for the development and distribution of air seeding and tillage equipment. AGCO is a global leader focused on the design, manufacture, and distribution of agricultural machinery. AGCO-Amity JV, LLC develops and distributes air seeding and tillage equipment under the Amity, Wil-Rich, and Wishek brands, as well as Challenger, Sunflower, and Massey Ferguson.
Headquartered in Wahpeton, North Dakota, AGCO-Amity JV, LLC distinguishes itself through a commitment to innovation … consistently providing products on the leading edge of agricultural technology, all with the goal of helping producers cut costs and increase yields.
Continuing a family tradition of creativity and innovation, Howard Dahl founded Concord, Inc., a manufacturer of conservation tillage farm equipment, in 1977. Concord was the first to manufacture an air drill with row-by-row packing and precision depth control, the first to put down fertilizer below the seed at the same time as planting, and the first to build a machine that changed seeding and fertilizing rates on the go.
Concord was sold to Case Corp. in 1996, but the remaining assets were used to launch Amity Technology. The words Concord and Amity both mean “partnership, mutual agreement, harmony.” These words reflect the attitude toward business that has been passed onto Howard and Brian Dahl from their grandfather, father and uncles.
